Buy the Right CCTV DVR For You

By Jackie Johnson

When people think about safety, they think about ways to protect their homes and families. When it comes to the protection of homes and families, many people have begun using a CCTV DVR. This equipment allows users to record around their home or business. They can replay video and save it. It is a great tool to have for people who want to keep their homes safe.

One of the reasons to consider equipment such as this as because of the benefits it gives victims of a crime. Because the evidence is recorded, the victim can take it to the police and have the criminal apprehended. It is a very effective way to gather evidence against a criminal. Instead of basing a case on circumstantial evidence, real evidence will be present that will allow for justice to be done.

A lot goes into the purchase of security equipment. It is never a good idea to just jump into a purchase. First and foremost, consumers must find a quality product. A security system will not do any good if it does not work properly. Consumers need to find out what measures the company takes to produce quality products. If a company does not take any measures, then the consumer needs to move onto the next place. Quality is nonnegotiable when it comes to safety equipment.

Almost as much as consumers need good quality, they also need a good price. While it is difficult to put a price on safety, it is easy to understand that certain things just cannot be afforded. There are quality CCTV DVR systems on the market for an affordable price. Consumers just have to know where to look for them. With certain companies, the cheaper equipment is just as good as or better than the more expensive equipment that other companies offer.

Technical support is something else that needs to be considered by new buyers. There is nothing more frustrating than buying a new piece of equipment that cannot be set up. Most people will require a technical support staff to help them install their CCTV DVR. Consumers want to make sure that it is installed correctly, so they may have to pick up the phone and get assistance during the installation process.

While those are all of the most important considerations that must go into buying a CCTV DVR, the ease of use of the equipment is also important. Even if technical support is offered, the equipment still needs to be something that the user can understand.

CCS-Imports has all of the things mentioned and more. They offer free technical support to their customers. They are the cheapest online vendor in the industry and offer a seven day price match guarantee. Every product is inspected before it leaves the factory, so customers can rest assured that they are getting a quality product. The company also has a vast inventory that customers can go through before making a selection. All products are incredibly easy to use. To find out more, go to http://www.ccsimports.co.uk.

Good Home Security

By David Patullo

Finding the ideal home security system to install in your home is not the most easy of tasks. It can be a little confusing at times, with such a wide variety of companies available advertising their services on a regular basis. When considering the various options, it is important to perform some research on the different home security systems available and acquire at least a basic understanding of how such systems function and operate.

You are probably not one of those paranoid people who have 15 different guns and barbed wire fences surrounding their property. You are hopefully not interested in installing a system that sets of mines when wires are stepped on, or want to create massive barricades to keep intruders off your property. Chances are you want a good home security that enables you to sleep comfortably at night and does not interfere with your regular daily life and home activities. The ideal security system should be easy to maintain, and fully functional. The last thing you need is having your 5-year-old kid accidentally triggering an alarm. These circumstances are unnecessary and should be avoided. A good home security system will be capable of thwarting potential burglaries, but will not interfere with your lifestyle. As such, opt for something that is relatively simple, cost-effective, and difficult to be seen.

Discover the areas of your home that would best benefit from the installation of motion detectors and other alarm devices. These areas would probably include front and back doors, as well as any low lying windows that could possibly be broke into. Figure out which points of entry to your home are unsecured, and then go to work on finding out the best method to use in order to effectively secure them.

The installation of a digital video surveillance system outside your property could be an extremely effective security system that could enable you to keep track of potential criminal activities before they even occur. Having several cameras installed around your property, including the driveway and fences, will give you advanced warning of an intrusion. Make sure that the cameras you set up are difficult to be seen, as burglars are known to cut camera wires and effectively stop video recording or broadcasting. You will also want to assess the best angles, and try to have the camera view cover as wide an area as possible. Why use a lot of cameras when you can get the same job done with a few well-placed ones?

You should engage yourself in thorough research on the company you are considering to install your security system. A good home security system will not be too heavily priced, but at the same time it will not need to be maintained on a regular basis. You do not want the headache of having to call your security company and have them send someone down to fix your alarm system every few months. Make sure the company you opt for is well-recognized and has good customer reviews.

Home Security: Exterior And Interior Lighting

By Roger Overanout

It is a well-known fact, that satisfactory lighting is a very valuable deterrent to crime. Whatever lighting might help reduce your risk of becoming a victim, the right lights, utilized properly will be the effective deterrent to burglars and other intruders and improve your home security.

Exterior:

Outside lights are critically important, especially near doorways and at the rear of your residence, where break-ins typically occur. All round security lighting that is set-up high out of reach, and is tamper proof, will greatly improve your home security and help to protect your home.

Lighting in carports and garages is critical. An automatic garage opener is the best choice. All the best garage door opener fitted today use a light that operates when the opener is activated, lighting the garage interior. In carports, it’s best to leave a light on permanently, have a light on a timer, or use a motion sensor to activate the light.

It is best to use a motion detector on all exterior lights that are not left switched on. The principal benefit of this for home security, especially in the backyard, is that the light warns you that someone is in your yard. When there can be some problem that dogs, cats, or even birds will trigger off the sensor and cause the lights to come on, if you set the sensitivity of the sensor right this will not be a issue. In the front yard, any type of lighting will be efficient, but make sure that the lighting design covers the entire front and sides of the home. Sensors can be utilized however they will be prone to “false alarms” induced by things like people walking down the sidewalk, or also kids playing.

Inside:

Whenever you go out for the evening, I suppose that like most people you leave a light on, the Police call these lights “burglar beacons”. A burglar beacon is a single light that is left on so you do not return to a dark home when you get back.

Regrettably these lights are a sign for the burglar that you are out. When you go out for the evening or away on holiday make certain several lights are left on, in different parts of the home, and furthermore a radio, put them on timers, from the exterior your house should look as if someone is home at all times to improve your home security.

That’s it for this time; in the next article we will look at sorting out the doors on your home.

Home Security How You Can Help The Police Before Your Property Is Stolen.

By Roger Overanout

Welcome back to part 7, if you have implemented the recommendations we have made so far you will have gone a long way toward protecting your home. Nobody can promise that you will not fall victim to a thief, so in this article I want to give you a few tips on how you can help the police retrieve your goods if it should be stolen.

Make an inventory of your property.

Keep a list of your processions in a secure place, perhaps in a safe deposit box or with a friend, this will help the police if you do have a burglary, and it will also help to support a claim if you have a house fire or some other kind of loss.

The better the job you do on the property inventory the more help it will be. Now that digital cameras are readily available take pictures of all the rooms in your home and their contents. In case of a loss by fire or flood etc. it will help you in your claim with your insurance provider.

On your property list, show, which room the goods, were in. Describe the article as fully as feasible; include the manufacturer model number, size, color, and the material the article is made of as well as its price. It is also a good idea to include damage marks, repairs, etc because these are unique to your things.

Mark your goods with your Post Code, your Drivers License Number or some other number that is exclusive to you but do not use your Social Security number! Properly marked property is hard for a burglar to sell on to someone else, and it makes it easier to trace them back to you.

Always mark your assets by engraving in an area that cannot be simply removed and is not in plain sight, if you cannot engrave the thing use a permanent marker or an ultra violet pen. Some items are not suitable for marking and this is where a digital or video camera comes into its own.

Now that you have a catalogue of your property make certain you keep it up to date!

Having marked your property make sure that any possible burglar knows about it, a small sticker displayed on doors and windows will do the job. These are generally available from your local police station or crime prevention officer.

Burglary is the most frequent form of theft in the United States; by marking your property you are taking an important step in protecting your home and avoiding the distress that this type of home invasion causes.

In the next part of this series I will be giving you a few dos and don’ts to help you with your personal and home security, see you soon.
